Still thinkin about this off road caper....now my Mate Col is still undecided since I told him about the new Buell Ulysses....I think he want's one of those now & not a KTM.

I'm going to wait & see, after all I think I'd prefer a Buell to a KTM now that it's available.

I know the KTM is more of a serious bike, but how 'exactly' it compares to a Ulysses we'll just have to wait & see.

I guess I'm kinda Brand loyal.... :? to a point. :)

Now it's apples to oranges. The KTM is a full-on Dirt Bike, a no compromise, hi-po-let's-go, kickass offroad machine. The Buell is a nice roadbike with some dirt-friendly modifications. It couldn't keep the KTM within earshot in the dirt. One the road, the situation is completely reversed, more so since the KTM is next to useless on the road.

The Buell would be a far more useful bike, but the KTM would be a much more fun bike. Dirt Bikes Rule!!!
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

I agree BuzZz.

I should mention that the model KTM he was pondering is the KTM 640.

Any way I know what your saying.

Now it comes down to just WHAT style of OFF road riding he'll be doing.

If I had the money I'd get both!! :D

Well OK I sold my 64 Ford Coupe & my 1200 Sporty....

& it looks like my Mate is Still thinking about his choice, :humm: KTM....BMW....BUELL....back to KTM....Scratch the Buell....etc etc....

So I have lost interest in this off road caper, at least for now.

I have my sights set firmly on a......STREET ROD!

I saw one in the flesh the other day & WOW! That's it, gotta get one & use it for my tours!

KTM makes some great bikes with lots of good aftermarkets parts already on them. Saves you from having to upgrade after the initial purchase.

I'm thinking of a KTM 300EXC for me!
