Thinkin of buyin a KTM

#1 Unread post by CentralOzzy »

Yeah....ME!

My M/C (Pre) history begins with dirt bikes. The last one I owned was a Honda XR 500d, which was way under-powered. Then they brought out the XR 600 (Doh) missed out.

ANYWAY....Thinkin of gettin back into it as Outback Oz has many places to ride & explore, yee-harrr, SO anyone have a KTM 'Big Banger?'
I'm interested in the 520-525. Like the one my mate Col tested elsewhere in this off road forum, too bad I didn't get to ride this bike :( as it was a spur of the moment thing for me.

What say Yee?

You can't beat the bigbore KTM's for what you want to do, Al. Build quality is the best of any dirtbike ever made, the components are the highest quality items available, they are simply the best built dirtbikes made. Period. You pay a little more for them, but you get ALOT more bike. And they go like a raped ape. Go for it!!!
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

Hmmmm....Yeah, I like the KTM! 8)

I'll probably get one as I have owned Honda, Yamaha etc. & perhaps it's time to go with a different Country!

All I have to do now is sell a few toys (Not the Hogs!) like my classic 64 Ford Coupe' to help finance the deal.

Oh JOY! - Thank GOD for Motorcycles eh? :)

Errrrrr....Gotta sell some stuff first, God knows how long that will take....*SIGH* :(

I thought I had a buyer for the Coupe....but it fell through....don't ya hate those people who say...."Yeah I'll buy it for sure!!" then....DON'T! :x

My Mate Col is still tossin' up what to buy, but when he does get his trail bike at least I'll get a few rides on it.

Buuuuurp....Burrrrrrrrrrrrp....Buuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrp!

Go for the 520/525. You won't be disappointed at all. I've put a grand total of 30 miles on my bike the past 2 years but boy it looks nice in the garage.

Lend it to me.....I'll look after it for you!

Just get a color cardboard cut out, actual size to take it's place while I get a few miles on it for you!

I'll pay for the shipping.

Ha ha, sorry it stays in the garage. I was gonna tell you though, make sure you allocate a "rear tire budget".
I went from an XR400 to a 520 & I never went through tires like I do on the 520.

My bike has 800 miles on it and it's on rear tire #4.
