Sell your SUV and buy a train... (How far do we take this logic? The point he was trying to make is protection is good and we shouldn't forgo it just because it's inconvenient or not perceived as "cool".)

You know how when you hit a big bug in your car the whole car shakes a little? When you hit a cow with a train... you don't even realise it.

Throws the cow off to the side of the tracks so it doesn't get bits and pieces (bones etc) under the wheels which can potentiall derail one of the cars.

I meant you don't feel the impact, sorry, I should have phrased that a little better.

I saw a dude on a gixxer (what is it with these bikes, they're squid magnets or what?) today wearing wifebeater, khaki shorts, and flipflops. I yelled out squid as I passed him from a stoplight, he then proceeded to do a wheelie and zoom past me. I caught up with him later at another stop light and he tried yelling at me but I had the window rolled up. I didn't know squids took the term so offensively.

I see alot of sportbikes up here in Conn. Dunno where they all came from or maybe I didn't notice before this year.

One thing I do know is the sportbike crowd is one of extremes. They are either wearing full leathers + full face helmet (like VermX) or nothing at all (even shirtless sometimes).

Crusier bike crowed isn't much better tho except with them I do see some riders in medium gear. (half helmet, boots, gloves) which is better than going shirtless I guess.

ah, my brother has lived in Darwin the last 14 years or so, hes very passionate about his riding, they have a good sized regualr riding group too (they wear gear:))

I go up at least once a year, they spot me this clunky TLS to ride, its a good time up there I love it.

And puck yeah does it get hot especially in Jan-Feb, ive nearly passed out from the heat many times riding up there
