I can agree with that. They are more art than bike. Perhaps the shows could be improved by removing all the dialogue. Or maybe have some sort of narrator like you hear on cooking shows sometimes.
The dialog is kinda funny though...... but Id rather watch Monster garage...
I've only seen monster garage twice. I can't really stand it. The father & son arguing on OCC is way to annoying tho. It would be nice if it was narrated instead. More of a how to do it yourself approach.

Are you kidding?! I can't believe this post exists, apparently you haven't been paying ANY attention.
Jessie James doesn't have a bike TV show, he's done three, one hour long specials, each focusing on one (1, singular) bike that takes him a year or so to complete. The morons in New York build their crap in a week or two... and if you had been paying attention, you'd notice that they send nearly everything out to be done... and then it doesn't fit when it comes back. You'd think that after the 10th, 20th whatever time that they'd eventually figure out that adding powdercoat and chrome MAKE THE PART BIGGER!!:roll: Everyone of the bikes that rolls out of West Coast Choppers is built to ride, and unlike what everyone has been saying he doesn't build a bike that's different just for the sake of being different, he builds them to be good. I guarantee you will never see anyone at West Coast gluing bullet "missiles" or fins or antlers or strobe lights or fake toolboxes to any of their bikes. He also wont sacrifice the quality of the bike for a deadline.
Like many of you I from the beginning was against Jessie James simply because he was famous... but again, if you're paying attention you start to notice him getting respect in magazines like The Horse and Dice and you hear people like Cole Foster respecting him in the same breath that he's basically vomiting over OCC, and you start to wonder if Jessie James is a little different.
It's true that Monster Garage (a very OCC style show) is associated with him. But that show has nothing to do with WCC, and you'll notice that he's not even on it very often, I'm sure he's well aware of how much of a joke it is. His celebrity has never changed his underlying philosophy on building.
You can’t compare these two. It would be like comparing the work Chip Foose does to the vomit that West Coast Customs spews (I could hardly contain myself watching them make dashboards out of MDF… MDF for gods sake!!). Just for fun when you get the chance, compare the welds on any OCC bike to any WCC bike (although you might have a hard time finding them on a WCC). For anyone who has ever been a fabricator you know the difference immediately just watching each one work.
Also both those companies (although I hate to call OCC a company... more of a circus) Have their Big Dog, American Ironhorse style catalog bikes. Do you really think that all their bikes are the show bikes that you see on TV?
The Tutels build bikes because they're famous. Jessie James builds bikes despite his fame.

Personally, I don't care about celebrities. Show up on the set....blow some stuff up and go home. If the explosions are good enough I'll pay 4 dollars to see it.
One thing about Jesse James tho is he managed to marry that lezbo popcorn chick. Which is actually pretty cool. Can't remember her name tho.
I liked monster garage when it first started years ago, and Jesse actually worked on the machines, and it was unique, in the past year or two, it has just got stupid. Jesse rarely shows up, and it's only to make an appearace. I don't know about the quality of his bikes, because I've never personally seen one, but I agree with Mysta on the crap OCC puts out. Most of their show is them arguing, they can't machine parts (unlike Jesse, who can, and does), and the concetrate way too much on making ridiculous looking bikes, for the sake of them looking ridiculous.

I didn't read your whole post either but I am down with anyone into motorcycles. I am obsessed with bikes, I think both companies make kickass machines even if they are just nice to look at... thats the point of some of them anyway.

When the day comes that I can afford my custom chopper, it ain't gonna be a daily driver.
We got a shop here in Cincinnati that's a couple miles up the street from me, Cinn City Choppers, that makes kickass bikes. I will go to them and have work with them to design a bike for me.
OK. I'm waking up now.
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?

I think the shows are so popular and successful because of the dialogue, I have to say that most people who watch OCC and buy their shirts etc don't even ride/have a motorcycle. They aren't meant to be DIY shows... just entertainment.
