HYOSUNG GV250

Bought a new (05) Hyosung GV250. Called the insurance CO with the VIN# and she called back to say when she ran the VIN, it came back as a Suzuki?? Whay is that? Did Suzuki make their frames or what..??

your insurance company is just confused since it isn't a super popular brand yet.

Hyosung had a contract to build some suzuki engines and stuff at one point, but just call your insurance and tell them they are wrong.

Be sure to double check the VIN number and, if they still come back with the same answer, talk to an agent in person.

That was my first bike. It was great! Real peppy for a 250, comfy, good quality, and it looked very good.

I sold it for a more sporty bike, since I realized the cruiser thing wasn't really for me.

I know this is a pretty new brand in the US, so can anyone elaborate on the feel of the bike? Is it comparable to the Suzi family? I’ve always found the Big 4 to produce reliable bikes; is this new brand an equal newcomer?

The 650 standard is a v-twin copy of the sv650. A very tough competitor, sinvce th SV has been around forever and has a huge cult following. But the Korean bike manages to hold its own. Unfortunately it costs almost the same as the Japanese bike which makes it less desirable.

They are New to America, but they are not a new company. They started building bikes in the late 70's, but at that time were in a techncical partnership with Suzuki (Which is why some of their products are similar)
