I am thinking about getting another used bike, since I decided against buying new. (insurance and cost and what not). I have found this bike on a bullitin board site, its a 1986 Yamaha Radian YX600, with 16000 KMs on it. The seller has told me it has sat for 2 years, and will need a new battery, carb clean and a new front tire. he wants $600 for it.

heres a pic of the bike in question.

so, good bike, good deal? I was thinking of offering 500.

Looks good.

I don't know much about that specific bike, but I bought an '80 Honda CB750F SuperSport for 425 bucks. Yours looks to be equal or a bit better condition, with less miles.

Definately make sure you hear it running...drive it if you can.

I wave to everyone...I don't give a flyin' 'f what you are riding.

I considered looking at a Radian for sale near me. I contacted my local garage mechanic to ask him about it, he said the Radian was a solid bike and hey would love to get his hands on one.
They are not very common. The two I saw were for sale for over a thousand. Based on my mechanics recomendation, he used to be a Yamaha dealer mechanic, I would grab it asap.

If it's a lemon you could probably part it out and make more then you're paying for it. Go for it, or I will... lol.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes 'n' how many bikes must Northern Pete own
before he gets to ride again?
Yes, 'n' how many videos will some chick named Scott send,
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Sorry... just couldn't help myself....
Ride it like you think owning it matters.
