I think I'm lost here. Are you guys saying that gas nozzles in CA won't work unless they are seated against the tank ?

If you pull them back it won't pump ? This some type of emissions control ?
Some type of safety control ?

Yeah Gompers, they have a bellows type of device on the nozzle (Sortof looks like fork gaiters) and it must be pressed against the tank so that when you are finished pumping gas, the bellows creates vacuum which sucks up fuel vapors back into the underground fuel tank.

Completely motorcycle unfriendly but good for the environment...

I so wouldn't pull back anything described as a "foreskin" to "fill my tank"

sheesh.

Now I've got this CA, foremost in fuel foreskins! slogan running around my head.

Here in Georgia, I noticed about 5yrs ago, that all the nozzles suddenly were replaced with those which "cut off" before a tank is filled. I drove an explorer with inop gas gage, and after the new nozzles could always work to squeeze another 4 gal into the tank after shut-off. It really matters when you refill according to the odometer.

So.....if I actually had a foreskin, I'd definately peel it back before inserting into the hole, then squeeze gently and watch carefully to avoid splatter and spillage. Sometimes it splatters all over the place and quits immediately if I squeeze too hard, best to let it slowly trickle until it's up to the rim. Wiping off the spillage is no fun, gets your hands all smelly etc.

Havent seen one of those pumps with the fume collector in a long time! I thought they abandoned the idea because no one could get the things to work properly and you had to be a bear to hold it in place long enough to pump yer gas!

Yeah bikes dont fill like cars..there's no pipe leading to the gas tank, its just a tank. Think of it like you'd fill a lawnmower or a portable gas can.

Will everyone please quit feeding the troll that is MotoF150. When you all start in with the name calling and cussing, then the mods have to go around deleting and editing. We can handle MotoF150 if he spouting out, but when everyone sinks to his level, then we have to address a much bigger problem. Thanks...

Cheers,
