Dissed due to my ride for the first time

I friend of mine had his HD on a special made lift, set behind his 18 whlr cab. What I saw was two wheels and an engine. I thought, I have that and only paid 2,000$ for it as where he paid no telling what for his.

Just was on the parking lot of the store, putting my helmet on, and gloves, and some lady asked me if I'm getting a "real" bike. On my question what is "real" bike, she said harley. reminded me this topic

Harley is taking on India as a large potential market. Offices are being setup there to facilitate sales. To be profitable in a world market, like GM, Ford, and Chrysler, HD will need to investigate the location of assembly plants. What will the India marketplace be like? I do not know firmly, but they're beefing up in their IT assets. With wealth, they'll be able to afford more riches such as a Harley in its current state.

If indeed India is to be successful in terms of volume sales, I'm inclined to believe that HD should seek out going beyond the cruiser as their golden egg for India. Their roads are nothing like American interstates which made HD cruisers so successful. Who knows what Indian infrastructure will be like 50 years from now, but strategies change with time.

HD is wildly successful in the States due to their cruiser base and being one of the first and never losing grip. The sheer size of American roads helped.

I also wonder what Harley will do with India. It would have to work really hard to position a motorcycle as a status symbol over there. With all the families of four scooting around on 125s (bikes and scooters) it would be hard to sell a motorcycle as a luxury item when its so entrenched as a functional transport.

Plus the roads. Plus the Indian traffic

Tis true, but people who ride bikes or scooters are looked down upon. So the rich people aren't going to be too attracted to the HD's.

Possibily. All of my friends and family are amazed that I'm in the States and riding a bike, they think I'm nuts. Not because of the safety issue, but if you can afford four wheels why the @# wouldn't you.

traffics not a big deal, people who pay that kind of money for a harley generally WANT to be seen by as many people as possible. i know i would.
