Dunno about the insurance part...but I still only have my permit (yes, I know...bad Scott **slaps hand**) and I just bought my SV

Not in Ohio. If you got the money, you can buy the bike.

yup you got the $$$/credit you can buy a bike in michigan. dont even need insurance to buy it.

lol yeah, they dont care... at all. you could tell em your buying the bike for a suicide attempt and they'd smile and sell it to you.

They never asked me if I have a license when I bought either of my bikes (I live in Alberta).
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

In most states you do not need a license to purchase, but no insurer will underwrite an UNlicensed rider... (think about it).

i was able to insure my previous bike w/o a license.
i did have a permit though.
