I'm lost...confused...and well erg

#1 Unread post by wtlf101 »

Okay, so I did get a bike. A 77 Kawasaki 200 z. It started just fine a few days ago before all this dang rainy cold weather. Now it won't start at all. I refilled the gas and charged the battery, and it still won't start. It sounds like the engine won't turn over, even with the choke. I'm new, so obviously I'm doing something wrong. My family's just gettin' into cycles. So what am I doing wrong? Any helpful ideas? :frusty:

probably not doing much wrong at all. some bikes don't respond well in the cold or humid weather.

you might want to try giving it a bit extra gas beyond what the choke gives you to get it to turn over.

Uh, did you check the kill switch?
I would be the old, slow guy. Just let me know where you are going and I'll try to get there before you leave.

I started the bike with it on run (the engine switch). It does start up, but the engine doesn't roll over into an idle. I'm not going to run the battery down trying to get it to run over into an idle. I can't get any power to the throttle either to try and give it that bit extra gas.
