I dunno if I'd have too much fun on a 250 given that I ride the next step up and I am just *starting* to get a little bored of it.
I can still have fun times on it, but I am beginning to master the power curves and it won't be too long before I am cursing and wishing for more power when I really need it.

On the other hand, as I have said before, the 250 makes a great vehicle for zipping around town getting from point A to point A and a half, because it's a lot cooler than being on a scooter.

thats a matter of opinion of course. i much prefer to associate with people who put having fun before looking cool or trying to impress strangers.

that said, if you get to a point you cant have fun on a 200 or 250, i think you need to stop riding. Not to say you cant have bigger bikes too, but just about anything with an engine and two wheels is fun in one way or another.

And all of it beats driving a car. Well, most cars anyway

It's an entirely different kind of fun.
I can't see myself enjoying that small a bike on the open highway where raw power is needed.
On a very small and windy racetrack, such a bike would be ideal because the joy in that is the precise cornering, not the pure speed.
Hell, I actually rode a 50cc Aprilia Ditech and it was fun in a weird kind of way.

But my point stands... I don't ride to look cool, but I also don't ride to look uncool and there's something uncool about the riding position of a scooter.
Do you see the difference?
I don't lose sleep over my fashion sense, but all the same I would not run around in a tutu and a chartreuse cardigan either.

like i said , all a matter of opinion. Everyone doesnt have to like scooters or anyhinng else. But some people prefer the riding position of a scooter.

And here's something else to think about, that you probably dont know because scooters are "cool" enough for you...scooters dont have one seating position. Some are laid back, some are upright, some even have drop bars and you have to tuck in to ride them. So basically, you miss out of the potential fun of something, because lack of information you dont have because somewhere along the line someone told you scooters werent cool. Understand?

You can continue to think scooters arent cool and i dont really give a rats "O Ring". But try not to make statements about them, when you dont even know what you're talking about. Mmmkay?

p.s who said anything about riding a scooter on the open highway? I wouldnt take a vrod on a dirtbike triail ....

Two wheels are two wheels. Scooter or HOG, if it has two wheels and a motor you can derive fun from it in one way or another. Scooters are just cousins of motorcycles anyway. I don’t care for the lower CC scooters, they just feel too small. I do like some of those larger +125CC scooters, very comfortable ride and the gas mileage puts nearly everything but my lawn mower to shame. I’ve seen an Aprilia RS 250 running around the island; I can’t wait to talk to him to see how he got it over here. (No bike shops in Cayman, so I’m sure he had it shipped from some country other than the US) I would love to find one of those for sale on the island. Didn’t Rossi start out on a 250 Aprilia?
