So, I have a really big head. I tried on every helmet in both of my local motorcycle shops and the only one that even came close was an XXXL in the Arai Signet series, which I bought.
However, I do still get a red mark on my forehead after wearing the helmet for an extended period of time - I gather I have an extremely long oval head. Any suggestions to improve the fit of the one I have? I believe it already has the thinnest headliner cushion they offer.
So my question is this, has anyone else with a similarly shaped head found a helmet that fits well and comfortably for long rides other than an Arai? I don't mind shelling out the money for good quaility gear, but $550 for a helmet is steep, and replacement costs will be similarly steep. Riding without a helmet is not an option.

the helmet padding will pack in a bit as you wear it more. the red mark on your forehead is pretty common.
how long have you had the helmet? sometimes depending on the material it is made of and the amout you use it, it could take a month or so to get broken in.
