Literally...latley when I head out for a ride, I'll pull my shirts out of the washer as soon as I hear the spin cycle start.
MAN...that really helps alot. We've been over 100degrees the past few days. Heck, I should just wet them in the shower and head out drippin.

Sounds like a great idea! Wear layers then as the layers dry remove them and throw them into a backpack?

Just soak the t-shirt...man that feels good cruisin around. I think I'll stand in the shower completely dressed before I go out next time.

Heck no...I don't were armor. There would be nothing left of me. I have a cruiser and at 100+ degrees...a soaking wet t-shirt and jeans is all I armor up with during the day.

Preaching to the choir, my friend. I'm still peeling from the sunburn I acquired riding around Memorial Day weekend with Scan and Loonette in nothing but a muscle-tee and a smile. There's just no way you're gonna convince me to put on a textile sauna and a space helmet on a 90+ degree day.

You know, technically the more skin you cover the cooler you should be, so long as it isn't a dark color. I'm gonna get one of those knit kevlar longsleeve dealies over at dragginjeans.com. I wonder how much water those would hold?

You've never ridden for a summer in Phoenix. If you put on the full crash suit with armor and ride around town for an hour, you'll be very close to heat stroke. If you can't cool by evaporation of sweat, you can get in trouble fast. Basically, if you cover up, you'll cook.

Even though the weather bureau says it's 107 degrees out, that's in the shade and not over sun heated asphalt. I went flying the other day and my wing mounted temperature probe was reading 135 degrees, three feet above the asphalt, out in the sun. The official temp was 107.

The bedouin tribes in the middle eastern deserts keep cool by covering up, but they're not walking around on sun-baked asphalt with a hot motorcycle engine between their legs.
