lever OR thumb operated?

so im thing about hand-actuating the rear brake.....i have two choices:

1. get a lever on the l/h bar under the clutch.

2. get a thumb operated rear brake somewhere under the l/h bar around where the horn is.

i personally want to get the 2nd...easier access, especially in a wheelie.

but except for that, is one better than the other?

That's more of a personal choice. Which can you work better and easier? That should be the goal.

As someone who NEEDS to fart around moving levers, find what works right for you and your bike.

Personally, if I'm hanging on to bars with my 4 fingers, the easiest to have free control would be the thumb lever. That doesn't affect your grip at all.

It doesn't much matter. Try one. When you break the bike and need to rebuild try the other. When you need to rebuild again... well... it's your bike.

when he breaks his foot off doing a wheelie he's going to need a hand lever.

I'd say go for the lever under the clutch, because you can loose several fingers and still be able to use it. you loose one thumb, the thumb lever is useless, unless you can somehow actuate it with the stump that used to be your right leg.....

yaa, thats what i was thinking....just wanted to make sure there aren't any downsides to it.

dirtytoes, does the sidestand fold up right under the shifter on your ex? i sat on one at the dealer and the sidestand folded right under the shifter...i didn't like it. felt like if i went to shift down or from N to 1 i might drop the stand by accident. is that adjustable or does it bother you at all?

never even noticed it.....so its never been a problem....

but when i think about it, there is no way you can put the kickstand down shiftin from N to 1st...the end of the sidestand goes behind the left peg when folded.
