Would a restricted bandit 600 be faster as a cagiva mito? acceleration wise and top speed wise? because ive sold my mito because of how unrelyable it was and it pissed me off. so im comtimplating which bike i want to get after i pass my test? i would like a restricted bike as they are more relyable and sound and look brilliant!

cheers

Assuming you had a stock mito 125 (not 50), and assuming you are getting a relatively new 600 restricted to 33bhp (UK standards, no?) Then I would say Top end would definitely be much more than the Mito, but the Mito might actually "Feel" faster (Because of its small size and 2-stroke nature.)

But in all regards even a restricted 600 should be quicker than a Mito.

The restrictor is just a couple of washers that limit the amount of air that can be pulled in through the carbs, thus limiting the total power the bike can produce. It's fairly simlpe to remove after he gets past that point.

And Verm, you should shrink your sig pics to about 1/2 the size.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I'm assuming you mean a restricted bandit rather than any restricted bike?

An unrestricted Mito is listed as 31bhp (wtf!!!), if we're talking a restricted bike its going to be sub 33bhp, probably very close to the Mito

The Bandit has a dry weight of about 200kg where as the Mito has a dry weight of about 129kg

I'd say an unrestricted Mito would have a slight advantage in a straight drag from stationary, but the Bandit should have more power left at higher speeds.

Mito's and RS125's have the same problem, they tend to be run full bore for prolonged periods of time leading to them going bang.

I take it you are from the UK, under 24 and looking at taking your full licence Leon?

NB; if you have been running a Mito on a CBT it shoudl have been the restricted version, meaning lower bhp
