#1 Unread post by meccaman510 »

hey guys, this is my first time buying a motorcycle, and my interest are Caffe type SPORT bikes..such as, gsx-r, cbr's, ninja's etc....

i dont really know what to search for as for used bikes...like: what year is best as for price, mileage, or just the model/make in general...

i have $3,000.. whats a reasonable bike i could get for a price like that

please help me!

people will say to stay away from RR bikes.

BTW, those are RR bikes and not cafe racers.

cafe racers looks like this...

anyway... it's more risky to start on those but it's up to you.

for $3000 i doubt you'll find a modern used RR bike for that price but good luck.

welcome to the fourms BTW! :D

if i had three grand and i wanted a sport bike...id go with a 93 gixxer...simply because it still has a carburater. and you can make anything look like a cafe racer...go sit on some bikes...find the one that fits you.
thats a sweet bike.

Some bikes start closer to the Cafe Racer look than others.

Triumph, Ducati and Enfield all have factory Cafe Racers in their line up. Although to be honest I'm not sure how newbie freiendly the Ducati or Triumph is.

As it is I wouold sa that a Gixxer-six, 7-fifty orthou would be a bad idea - as would any of the Superbikes.
