cb750k battery going dead!
cb750k battery going dead!
I have another problem. I got a new battery and charged it fully. Rode the bike for about 9 miles and the battery was dead and the bike quit running. I put a meter on the altenator and it was charging fine. I am at a loss for ideas now. One more thing, I started losing power at about 7 miles. Nursed it home and hooked a jumper to it and it started right up.
You may not have the same problem I had, anyways, I had replaced my batt and from time to time it would not start. It turned out to be that I had over looked my ground cable and forgot to tighten down the cable at the frame ground. Cable tightened problem fixed.

make sure nothing from the battery to the lights is getting hot. if it is, your problem is going to be around there and its draining it.

I can only guess, but with an old bike, the biggest problem is a lack of proper ground. Many of the connections get corroded with age, and simply need to be cleaned. I restore the old Yamaha XS650s and the second place we look when there is a non charging issue is the connectors and battery ground. You have already checked the first place we look. XS
