Time for new rear on my 05 Honda Shadow spirit

eat it up in 4500 miles :(

are the Metzeler tires better than the OEM? Worth the $40 differnce?

Thanks

Depends on which model of tire. I got 9200 miles out of my first Dunlop D220 rear, and 5100 out of the second. My Dad switched to Metzelers on his C50 (which ones I don't know) and the sales guy said he could expect upwards of 20k miles. Personally, I'm just as happy replacing the tires more often but knowing the rubber is nice and sticky.

I just installed Dunlops front and rear on Miz Thang and I really like the way they feel and ride .
Just my 2¢ worth once again .

I'm kinda partial to shafties myself but, yeah, I hear ya. A few crafty individuals over at VROC have managed to convert their Vulcans over to chain drive. Better efficiency and less unsprung weight never hurt anyone.

I'm jealous of the power, but not enough to sacrifice my handling. They should've shoe-horned that engine into the Mean Streak chassis, made it belt drive, and lightened the frame with aluminum.
