Yeah, that was almost certainly a stolen bike. An R-1 is not what most people (shut up Verm :laughing:) want to learn to ride on. If you poke around on this site you'll see the most common advice for a good starter bike is a 250 Ninja from kawasaki. Good luck and keep your eyes peeled. Oh, and take the MSF course. You can find one in your area here.

Guys, I'm guessing it wasn't a real R1, but one of those mini bike replicas. Some of them are souped up and do go pretty fast here in NY.
How much was the guy asking, was it around 1000?

I'd still be skeptical. It doesn't seem like all of the information fits together.

According to their site, their 39cc bike puts out 8.5 hp and does 50mph (80 kph). Maybe if it was being ridden by a leprachaun. :laughing:
