Did you miss the 'I find' in that sentence? I'm speaking from experience. Your experience may vary, but I found the jeans cooler while stuck in town in traffic. At slow speeds air doesn't actually penetrate the several layers of mesh very well. And still air is the best insulator you'll find short of a vacuum. At highway speeds, sure the mesh is cooler, but the jeans are plenty cool too.onlinesmurf wrote:If you are going to wear gear you wear gear that is usefull. No type of jeans are cooler than mesh pants with shorts under them so you may stop believing that now. Mesh pants lets almost all of air pass through. Look at the weave on mesh pants and compare it to the weave on jeans to show how silly that statement is.
And as I indicated it's a comfort/convenience trade-off vs safety. I never said the jeans were as safe as full pants, they aren't. By that same token however mesh pants aren't as safe as leather, and two piece leather isn't as safe as a one piece. By your logic I might as well wear flip-flops and a wife beater if I can't wear a full racing suit. Or do you actually conceed to comfort enough to wear mesh pants insteand of a one piece suit it the summer?
