Nah, he hasn't got the ying yangs to do something like that. My money is on a "race start" that ends up the arse of a parked car because he is too busy looking at his tach to see where he is going.

no, i mean a 3 sec take off, a good start is one that you dont stall and you arnt rear ended, a 3sec take off, like the kind you were practicing, are almost never needed, so still wondering why you might need them :)

you confused me... so you meant going 0-60mph in 3 secs. that's my product when i get a good start.

not stalling is a normal start... revving high while keeping the front down is the one im practicing.

some guy w/ the same bike as me said he's doing 8Krpm take offs but i don't wanna try that yet especially w/ the TRE installed.

i'll stick to my 4Krpm take offs for now. i haven't even gotten good at it yet. then when i get good at 4Krpm take offs, i'll practice 6K.

like i said, it's fun to practice... not as fun as cornering practice but still very fun to practice.

as for its need outside racing... well uh, uh, it's great if you wanna get away fast, whatever the reason.

ya, so not stalling, getting off with your foot comming up as you go not pushing you on and and getting off the line without getting rear ended are good starts and what you should be practiceing unless you have them abolutely perfected, as for the 3 sec starts your practiceing, you still havent answered my original question, why the hell do you need a 3 sec start, you would need it for one reason only racing, a track day. And man, if your still having issues and problems running quick threw the canyons then you are not ready for a track day.

You would definitely not need it on a track day either as you start from the pits at the beginning of your timed session.

It is purely based in racing and judging by the way he rides around corners racing starts are the absolute last thing he should be concerned with.

Does your bike come with a 0-60 timer built in or something? I'm trying to figure out how you'd do it accurately.

For some reason I thought that 0-60 times started when the light went green, and not when you start rolling. So human response times would be taken into consideration. How do you account for that?

Or are you just counting in your head while you do it?
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
