New rider trying to settle on what size bike to get!

I think you're barking up the wrong tree with a supersport, be it a 600 or a 1000. They are designed with shorter riders in mind.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

In most cases you're right...but there are sport bikes out there that'll fit tall riders comfortably. Unfortunately most are big CC advanced bikes, but they exist. why are you looking at a sport bike? not saying you shouldnt. but I sure hope you are not looking at them because of your size. Thats the opposite way to go. standards and dualsports will be much better suited to a larger rider. seems every 600 out there is designed for someone at least a foot shorter than you.
