question about fzrs...if anyone knows

I just bought a 94 fzr 600 last night. It has some body damage and I was just going to repair it myself and maybe polish the swingarm and lips of the rims. As I was looking for ideas on how I would want my bike to look, I came across pics of fzrs with r1 seats on them. They are a mod made by a company called Airtech, that fits a r1 looking seat on the old fzrs. My question is, does anyone know if these things are just for show, or would they actually hold a passenger. I love the way they make the bike look but for 200 dollars, I want it to be a functional passenger seat, not just eye candy. There is another mod that fits an actual r6 seat to the bike, but that involves cutting half of the bike off with a grinder. Thanks if anyone knows the answer.
