Hand Signals

#1 Unread post by MotoF150 »

After being in this forum for a while I came to the conclusion that many of you guys are newbees and I wanted to inform you some biker hand signals that maybe you don't know about and what they mean. You all understand the turn signals and the stop signals made with ur left arm? Good, additional hand signals, pointing down on the road means there is a dead animal or gravel or a pothole on the road, kicking ur leg out in the direction of somebody or something shows ur displeasure with that, like a Harley parked along the side of the road, or a car thats passing you, pointing ur left hand to ur helmet or your head making ur hand like a gun means someone or something is making you mad, like someone tailgatting you, moving ur hand in a circle motion means you have to stop for something, and I don't think I need to explain the middle finger hand signal, everybody knows what that means.

1 finger or vertical chopping motion with hand means single file . 2 fingers = riding two up (2 abreast)
Too early to think too clearly ...........
Usually when riding with my club I end up being the defacto road captain . Don't know how that got started but it seems to be the way it is .

Pointing to the gas tank means "I shouldn't have eaten that bean burrito"

I could've sworn you were gonna say Suzuki!

Patting the top of your head = I need to stop... immediately.

I thought patting the top of your head mean there was a cop ahead...no?

So whats the hand signal for cops, so you can warn a rider that may be endagered of falling into a speed trap ahead of them. I was told by a friend to tap the top of your helmet, what do you guys do?

yup, that's the sign. Just tap the top of your helmet a couple of times. Another sign is to have your left hand parrallel to the ground and move it downward a few times (that's the sign to slow down). I guess you could give both signs at the same time if you'd like
