300 days of sunshine per year (more than Florida or CA) NO HUMIDITY, tons of curvy roads, high quality roads, i.e. no potholes, few cagers in the mountains, snow in winter only lasts a day or two.

VERY Easy to ride here year round.

Some of us in the Northeast do ride year 'round, pretty much. My wife and I haven't winterized our bikes for the past two winters, usually get out at least every couple of weeks in the winter. Gear choice helps, e.g. my wife runs some Gerbings heated clothing on her bike.

I 'winterized' my bike 3 times two years ago, but never parked the bike for more than a couple weeks. Didn't even bother last winter.

I rode at least once a week . . . even rode to work when there was snow on the ground (overnight dusting, my car was in the shop).

All you need is winter gear: An electric jacket liner and heated grips are all I need, I add those chemical toe warmers for all day cold weather rides.

You can ride when the roads are dry and there isn't too bad a coating of salt/sand.

I do avoid riding at night in the winter, because ice is a definite danger.

Both coasts have such a high cost of living to discourage a lot of people. Try Texas...my wife is from Philly, and she loves it here. It really isn't much hotter than the Northeast during the summer, and you don't have to deal with the awful winters. Plus, it's extremely affordable. The hill country here has some great riding.
