The clicking is usually the fuel pump
Theres a few things to check first. on the right side of the handlebars, there should be a kill switch, may sure its in the run position
Next make sure you haven't left it in gear. If its in gear, and the side stand is down, theres normally a microswitch that stops you starting it... (this is a good thing, its better to be on a bike when it starts moving, rather than stood next to it

)
After checking the obvious then start on the mechanicals...
If the battery was low, your headlights would be dim, so i suspect thats not it, but try anyway.
