Ah...no it doesn't (but you already knew that) so why the gratuitous shot?

And which part of "We should leave it at that" was unclear for you? :)

Plus some of the tackiest bikes i've ever seen have been on that show.
It's all about the bling.
Did you see more than 1 episode? That just isn't true. If someone is going to go and buy a Gixxer 1000 and stunt I'm sure they would have even if this show never came on the air. I guess you also think that everyone who watches horror movies or plays violent video games is going to become a murderer also.

They show some "tricked out" bikes, but they also show tons of regular sport bikes... did you see the track episode, the deals gap episode, or the street fighter episode?

I'm sure the show is designed to appeal to a very diverse crowd of sport bike riders... you don't seem to realize that many sport bike riders are into stunting or at least like to watch it. People are also into those ugly tacky stretched out hyabusas.

wow ok capt assumption, yes i've seen more than one show. I play video games myself and watch horror movies and i'm not a murderer, nor do I think video games and movies contribute to violence. That's taken care of by bad parenting and lack of proper education.

But I digress,

The things they show are irresponsible and dangerous. most of the time the host gets on the bike and does a wheelin or a stoppie, wow cool. It's not a real bike if I can't wheelie. All those people who are into tricked out bikes and stunting on public roads aren't good spokespeople for the community and don't deserve a show dedicated to them.

I especially liked the one where they were at the track and the one guy packs it in warming up his tires...real professional and safe. Or the high speed flybys on the highway. How about the wheelies and lane splitting in traffic. Then there is the segement where they talk about how tough it is on the streets and about the fight and how they're representin'. How about when the host was blabering about how many accidents he's been in and how many broken bone's he's had..remind why I want to watch that crap and be cool like him.

Good portrayal of the motorcycle culture.

I probably won't watch another one. How about a show where the focus is rider safety and learing real riding skill like cornering and emergency stopping. Even if they had comparaison between the bikes and showed the pros/cons of each.

But then again it would last. Just like the reason naked bikes don't sell here is becasue everybody has to look cool on their bike and the only way to do it is on a race replica..or a harley (they already ahve a show for that).

hahaha... the show is called 'super bikes' and not 'safety riders' for a reason. I guess we have different opinions. I think people can make up their own minds. I don't see that show influencing people to go out and be irresponsible any more than a movie or video game would cause someone to be violent - that is why I made the assumption about you... and I still think I am right :)

Full gear you say?! Bah!!

I guess if you normally wear a wife beater and shorts w/o helmet, then Blue jeans, an ICON jacket, and a helmet may seem comparitively like full gear but it isn't.

Re-watch all the episodes and you'll see perhaps 50% of the riders w/o any gear at all. Even those doing wheelies and stoppies. SQUID. Heck in the NYC episode they were comparing tentacle scars for bragging rights, host included :)

I do enjoy the show, those stunters certainly have *tons* more skill and bollocks than me. I like the hosts. Just wish there was more riding and less tacky-bling.

I meant the actual hosts and people doing the show... jason britton etc. not the people they show on the street. the show is somewhat of a "reality" show... they are showing what is out there... what people really do with bikes... not candy coating it. Yes... stunting on public roads isn't the safest thing to do... neither is riding a motorcycle period. get over it.

What I dont understand is why? Why make a show about bling and stunters? How boring!

There are so many great motorcycle magazines and publications that would make a great basis for a TV show. There was a show on The Science Channel last night called "Speed on Two Wheels", was all about sportbikes and racing. It was a great and informative show that made a real effort to explain what bikes and racing are all about. Then I watched SB, it sucked BAD in comparision.

I hope they change the direction of the show, its just a steaming pile as it stands.

It's irresponsible of theim to show all those people wearing less that ideal clothing. It makes it look like it's ok

i guess we agree to disagree. :D

Custom Bikes

The one thing I do like on the show is the customization to the bikes. I remember as a kid loving to find a new bike parked somewhere with a custom paint or parts and how great it was to see something I had never seen before.

Tacky or not they show some creativity and tie in with the region they are made in. Cool to see some different bike culture/influences.

Plus customization gives you some individuality and makes your bike stand out from the crowd.

I just really appreciate seeing creativity because it leads to new ideas and innovations. This in turn leads to better and more fun to ride bikes. I'm sure my bike wouldn't have a 240mm rear tire if it hadn't been done on a bunch of customs previously.
