Who makes a rain jacket worth the price? I see tons of jackets, but the whole," let me use it on the road and I'll let you know" kind of shopping is not really an option. What do you all recomend?

My joe rocket has a zip in liner that's 100% waterproof, on a warm day, that works both ways.... Previously I used my corporate issued Gortex rain gear which worked fairly well...

My corporate issue Gortex works wonderfully well with my full face helmet. The only time that it leaks is when I stop.

I ride a cruiser and am not into padded jackets. I just don't want to spend 60-80$ to find that the thing leaks on to clothes.

I got a first gear overjacket that's bright yellow and folds up into a tiny ball for $20 off e-bay. Totally waterproof, and it fits over my regular jacket. You might check the first gear website for something similar.

As for pants? I just get regular waterproof hiking pants from a camping supply store. It'll do you fine.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I don't know if you are still shopping around. I got my rain gear today and there's a 40% chance it's going to rain when I return home from work again today (stupid split shifts).

Anywho, the Frogg Togg suit was recommended by a few people on this forum for rain gear so I bought it. I'll let you know how it goes but I suited up in it a few minutes ago and took a picture. Supposedly the fabric lets air molecules through but not water (water is larger). So, this is me in my rain suit. Cost was only like 35 bucks and some for shipping (eBay for the win). It fits over my boots and my leather jacket!
