Disconnected hose, don't know where it came from
After getting a new battery and installing it, I noticed that there's a rubber hose that is connected to a metal line that comes out of the bottom of my gas tank. The hose is clamped to the frame on the other side of the battery, and goes down toward the transmission. The other end of the hose is not connected to anything. Where is he supposed to go? Is he supposed to be left open?
edit: Noticed there was a maintenance forum. Sorry for cross posting, but I'm going to post over there too. Feel free to close one of them, mods =)

Bikes have a couple of hoses aimed out the bottem for overflows and things of the sort. I wouldn't worry about it to much, especially on a new bike. Is the end clean cut? Or does it look like it tore/broke off?
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

most likely an overflow...I kinda freaked when i found mine on my Kaw too. But it was spewing gas when i found it cuz of some debris in the line.

I agree, probably just an overflow in case you overfill your tank. My old Honda had 3 or 4 tubes underneath it, going to the tank, the carbs, etc.
On some bikes you'll see a small hole around the gas cap that is connected to that hose; itt'll keep gas from going all over your tank.
