I have only noticed that in MA on I-90 (aka the turnpike). They certainly don't seem to care as long as you're under 75 on 93/95.

I91 and I95 (NY / CT border) is one major speedway last time i rode there. It was at night but still a healthy traffic flow and many cars still fly by me while doing 75.

When I went to court for my ticket. The cop forgot to fill in the date on the ticket before he handed me my carbon copy. When I got to court. I fought it and showed the prosecutor that the "date" space was blank. It was not blank on the officer's ticket however. BAM! not ticket for me. It was dismissed.

This was only at the end of the trial though. They tried to get me to admit guilt before. Stick to your guns. If the ticket is filled out wrong/changed after, it should get thrown out.

Since we do have radar systems made to guide and take down Mack 5 missles, I don't see it being that difficult for normal radar.

Simply takes the rate of the radar Hz or GHz range and measure the difference between the two object. That was the concept in the 70's and 80's, I'm have no clue about today. There was talk of multple frequency and pulses radar along with pulsed laser. Each backing up the other

If this came out, it would be very redundant, so difficult to defeat as a self analyzing system for every shot of radio energy, either light or RF.

Seems Judges go with just there opinons not the facts today so this is my opinion

Can you take traffic school to eliminate the points? If you think the drive/gas money/your time is worth the effort for the $150 bucks, show up and plead "No Contest or Guilty with an explanation". Usually the judge will show leniancy. You admitted to speeding and irregardless of what the officer used to track your speed, the judge knows how officers are trained in doing so. If you had a veteran officer he has probably done this a thousand times and is nothing but routine. You have the chance of him not showing up, but if this guy has been on beat for some years, he knows to put all of his cases in court on the same day...plus he's getting paid to go.

Watch out for the diagram trick...because the officer may already have his prepared and without a lawyer you will have a tough time defending yourself against his demonstration. He has probably been doing that same routine stop in the same direction, same location for who knows how long. Its all routine for him and nothing more than a day of work.

Good luck though...let us know how it pans out. Offer to do community service or something in place of your points if you don't want them that bad.

I would agree that the Mass pike is partolled more than other interstates in Mass. I would also watch out on I-91 around the Mass/Conn border. IIRC, when entering Conn from Mass on I-91 south at some point the speed limit drops to 45mph for a few thousand feet. That is where I got my ticket doing 65mph.

I would also give Maryland an honorable mention for speed enforcement especially on I-95. I've seen some strange stuff around there. Like a cardboard cut out of a police car (actual size & painted) on the side of the road. Once you pass it you notice its fake and speed up again. Only to be caught by the real cops 2 miles down the road.

BAM! The defense rests. Like I said you'd be surprised how many tickets are changed after the fact. I'm unsure what the rules of procedure are in Canada. I would imagine they are similiar to the rules in America.

Next time view the state's evidence first. As you are entitled to. Compare your photocopy to the prosecutions copy. If you find a mistake like that bring it to the attention of the judge. Ticket should be dismissed immediately. Remember to not admit guilt at any time. If you are not testifying you can not be cross examened. Ignore thier questions completely.

That's hilarious! I've seen more cars flipped over and damaged beyond belief/on fire cars when driving on 95 in MD than any other state, ever. They know how to flip 'em good there!

I remember they had a cop dressed up in really shabby clothes, holding up a hand painted sign of some kind (probably asking for a ride or something)... he had a radar gun in one hand and they were nailing people left and right.

Sneaky bastards.
