Sh*te, good to hear u got away with it!!
I had a similar occurence. I was on a highway that ends rather abruptly in a sharp righthand corner, to be fair its a max 100(km) zone from about 10km back, and then turns into a max 80, 60 and finaly 40 about 500m before the turn. Anyway some idiot who had been hired by the NATO to drive the big wigs during the summit here a few years back was testing his new Audi A8 on the highway, with a group of other A8's. They were testing high speed runs etc.
I was just into the curve, and heard and almighty screeching, look back, and see an A8, wheels locked over fully, ABS working, but still fully blocked wheels. He flew straight past my rear, inches from where I had been seconds before, and would have been had I been doing 40 instead of 41+kmh(makes u think), hit a hump of gravel, and the car ended up flipping in the air, landing on its roof.
Later turns out he was doinf 280kmh, and talking on the phone. Dumb bas***d
Almost ended up in the hospital last night

Wow, that's some pretty scary "poo poo".
That's one thing I'm borderline paranoid of. I constantly watch the mirrors if I'm stopped, and I'm usually flashing my brake lights a few times and planning escape routes "just in case".
It's a good thing you do the same, and I'm sure it'll be even more of a habit from now on.
I can't imagine being rear ended on a friggin' bike. Yikes.

Glad to hear you keep your eyes back there. I was hoping that this thread would start something like that. The more people who look back at a stop, the better.OoJRod06oO wrote:thanks to this thread I now check my mirrors a lot more while at stoplights and stop signs.
Glad to hear you came out of it OK, Sev.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
