maybe Verm is just chicken "poo poo" in corners when he has to lean his bike over, so he hangs off to prevent having to lean it over more than 10* and wetting himself

Hate to butt in on your bickering but why is everyone fueling the fire? If Verm wants to ride the way he does then let him, he's the one who looks foolish on a bike not you guys. He has been given constructive criticsm and has chosen not to take it, so let it go. There, theres my two cents worth.

Your cornering is probably improving just because you're getting more saddle time (well, not really, since your "O Ring" is only in it half the time...

But whatever, it's obvious you don't really want to listen to any constructive criticism, and all of the people telling you to change your cornering techniques are all wrong, and you with your inexperience know better because of the Ben Spies videos you have and some guys told you it looks good from behind on your canyon rides. And they all get a good look too, because you're only going 20mph when you turn.

Anyway, I don't mean to jump on the pile and bash you, but it does get tiring reading these posts of yours where you just ignore good advice.

1. more tire contact patch, so more traction. let's say both riders go 40mph on the same tight turn... the guy not hanging off might be in the edge of the tires traction limit... but the guy hanging off is not since he has more contact patch.jonnythan wrote:OK..

Leaning your body over the bike in a turn just means that you have to lean the bike over a little bit less.
Verm.. what exactly is the advantage in this?
you can take the same speed w/ less lean angle. so the guy hanging off has more traction points to spare for earlier acceleration out of the corner, leaning more, or braking if needed.
2. hanging off is one of the steering aids along with putting weight on the pegs.
