1982 cr80 problems

hi i have a 1982 cr80 **2 stroke engine** and when in netral the engine will start to rev automatically and it will not stop. does any one know why this is?

At a guess...

Air leak in the intake tract someplace.....
No Witnesses.... :shifty:
