In good conditions (ie dry day after a rain storm has cleaned all the sand grit oil, and other gunk off the roads), there should be more than enough traction to scrape parts of the bike on most roads. be caeful though, the longer the dry spell, the more crap you tend to find on the roads.

Thats not to say you won't still scrape them, just that you need to be wary of where it all builds up, so you aren't leaned over too far on it.

Also drizzle is incredibly slippery, just enough water to bring up the oil, not enough to wash it away. Likewise the first 5 minutes of every rain shower is also slippery.
