Hang in there :D It does sounds like its the bike you're more concerned about than you're riding, ultimately leaving you uncertain overall, that's understandable.

I applaude you for getting back up to keep at it. Reading your post, while the situation isn't the same as mine, I could feel the same reservations in your words that I'm experiencing.

From reading Story's post, you can physically handle the bike, which is a lot of the battle right there. Probably some good seat time to build up the confidence a bit, take it at an easy pace between riding and pillion and things will blossom from there. The MSF BRC is a good stepping-off point.

 You can do it

i went for a ride!!!! well a short, puttering ride around a parking lot keeping it under 20 mph....but i did it! today the parking lot, tomorrow the world!
actually, it felt really good. I kepy it nice and easy to get comfortable with the bike, although i remembered a lot more than i thought i would. tomorrow we are going out for a longer lesson. but i definitely feel more confident now.

I asked Monica, she meant puttering. My meticulously tuned idling at a smooth 900 rpm magna v30 does not sputter.

She looked great, smooth, not jerky and smiling.

I fixed it.

It's good to hear that you got out there, "bluemonkie99". I think you'll enjoy the MSF course. Keep riding!

quick update:
I had another parking lot lesson. I was up in third gear, cruising around. I worked on my turns which is my biggest problem area and the reason I failed the DMV test in the first place. I definitely feel more confident. And i signed up to take the BRC course the last weekend in September. My bike is running well, and I actually am excited to ride now.
WOOHOO!

Being excited to ride is a good sign. Now you will be counting the days until your classes start.
