What really annoys me is so called "textspk", now being used on forums and in emails, as well as SMS. for example - "ur" for "your"
and "l8r" for "later"

in a text where you have a max of from 180 characters, i can see the point - in an email though, it's plain irritating!
Don't give up.

Not now, not soon, not after being continually knocked down.

If you never give up, you can never truly fail.

That's been around for quite a while. I've always called it "AOL-speak" since it stemmed from teens and pre-teens getting online and chatting like the sun's not gonna rise tomorrow. Seriously, typing "you" instead of "u" takes two more keystrokes and makes you at least have the image of someone who passed grade school.

Don't even get me started on its versus it's. You would think it would not be hard for people to remember "it's" is a contraction, but nope!

I need some anti stress pills or something... or a nice sunny ride. 8)

I think the sunny ride would be much more effective.
