The whole most accidents happen close to home thing holds true.
Mostly because you are familiar with the roads in your neighborhood, so your cautiousness goes slack, and wham, when you least expect it, a new teen driver has just taken out your front wheel.
Statistics sometimes hold a bit of truth to them.

Hey I lived in Guam for 4 years. I was in Piti and went to Agana Heights Elementary
Well yeah you got a point about the accident has a higher statistic of happening close to where you live/work because you spend a lot of time near there, but people also may get get complacent and not pay attention because they are familiar with the area. The one time you lower your guard, may be the time that it bites you in the arse... Just another way to look at it...

On the same token, the unfamiliarity of a place far from home increases your odds of getting into an accident, so I believe that levels the playing field. But the area one square mile from your home will always be the most heavily traveled and, therefore, will be the most likely place to wreck (whether it be your fault or someone else's).sharpmagna wrote:Well yeah you got a point about the accident has a higher statistic of happening close to where you live/work because you spend a lot of time near there, but people also may get get complacent and not pay attention because they are familiar with the area.
