Daughter has a 1983 Suzuki GS450 with dual Mikuni BS334 carbs. It has been sitting for several years and I removed the carbs to clean them and remove the bad gas. There is an amber fuel line connecting the two float bowls. Each bowl has a vertical passage that is connected to the amber line. One of the passages has a small check ball on the bottom and a "piston" on top of the check ball. The other float bowl only has the "piston". By piston, I something that looks like a brass rod, approx 11/32 long and 5/32 across. Based on unmatched fasteners and stripped screw heads, I'm guessing someone had "worked on" this bike in the past. I'm wondering if the previous owner left a check ball out, or if a ball only goes in one float bowl. I have a factory shop manual and have consulted other references, but nothing shows a picture of the passage/piston/check ball. Can anyone help? Thanks
