Just looking at my pants, with all their little zippers and velcro straps, etc...I dont see why there would be much difference between womens and mens riding pants, unless you are looking for a perfect-size-fit pant. Go with the ones that adjust, they can look just as good.

They'll look just as good?! Not even wanting a "perfect" fit, most mens riding pants are not going to cut it for most women. There's way too much length (for most women), so now you're all baggy and saggy near the bottom. Too high of a rise (area from crotch to belly button), which can be very uncomfortable. Nothing worse than having a waistline belt right up under your watermellons. And for women like me, in order to get enough material for the hips and thighs, the waistline ends up being huge and gaping. Sure, you can cinch it up with the velcro, but they look like ridiculous clown pants. You can say they're just as safe or whatever, but no way (unless your frame is built like a man's) will they "look just as good".

Cheers,
Loonette

Last winter, when i was first learning to ride, i actually did wear snow pants over jeans and they melted...lovely smell. usually i wear jeans but i would love to find a pair of pants that fits well...no bagging in weird areas, or gaping at the waist. why can't then make women's clothing. even the jackets fit weirdly. all those companies making leather halters for the pillion riders should take a look at what the market actually wants.

I have a pair of Apinestars "Stella Bat Pants" funny name, nice gear. They fit just about perfect, but I'm easy to fit. (5'9" 155#) I really feel for all the shorter riders out there.

But they're not perforated, so I've been wearing jeans for some airflow.

I'm thinking about getting this to wear under jeans for next summer:

Good for you. I mentioned the things that I notice when I've tried to work with men's pants. So apparently you know much more about this than me. I'll stand down, so you can tell me how it is for most women - I'll just speak for myself from now on.

LOL...what I meant was that no one would really notice if your riding pants didn't fit perfectly. :dunno:

Unless you've seen me in men's riding pants, you have no idea. But once again, you claim to know, so I'm done with this topic. I'm not going to debate the fit of clothes or how they look on me with some guy in the Ladies' Lounge.

I just bought "all" of my initial gear except (you guessed it)...pants. What a profound pain -- absolutely nothing fit decently (didn't help that most of the retail places I went to only had guy's sizes. I'm about 5'3" and 108 and even the smallest sizes either swamped me or only fit "parts". I know exactly how Loonette felt, I lost my sense of humor rapidly.

I won't even go into what they actually looked like :( . But then again, it's not like my husband's riding pants make him look good...

This is going to take awhile!
