new rider

well im new to street bikes. ive ridding many dirt bikes in my life and a few diffrent street bikes but now ive decieded that its about time for me to get my own. in the past year or so ive ridding my friends 05' R1 and his 99' VFR 800 many of times. Ive been thinking of buying the VFR. would this be a good choice for a starter bike.
