No ridding until late September

How many states require MSF to get a license? Indiana doesn't and there is no way i'd wait a year if someone told me that. some of these things seem to be getting way out of control.

I'd do the waiting thing cash-in-hand once or twice - make sure and get there 30 minutes early to get in the teacher's good graces and let them know you are there standby. If that didn't work, I'd call dealerships as other have suggested. I'm sure there's a way to do it. I did the class earlier this year after having taken it 20 years ago. I was originally told they were full for months so I just called the people who put on the class and asked if there had been cancellations - they got me in the next day.

MN doesn't require it, however everyone I know who rides has taken it since it's good instruction as well as the easiest way to pass the riding test.

My state does not require it, but they make it a pain in the "O Ring" if you don't have the card.

If you have the card, all you do is go to one small line, pay the fee, get your picture taken, and your new license.

If you don't have the card, you need to wait in a LONG line for a written test, wait for it to be graded, then you get tested riding. The state does everything to make it as long and painful as possible. I have heard stories of people going there, wanting to get the classification added to their license, and being told to come back the next day for the ride.

What happens? People ride without the states approval. Get a cop behind you? Hell, he can't outrun my motorcycle. Lets see him go down this narrow alley, then across someone unfensed back yard. If you drive crazy enough, the cops will give up. Just put a whole crapload of mud on the plates. And don't try to run in your own town. Run if you're over 20 miles from your town.

lol go for it try to out run the cops well see you on tv when every helicopter in the area is sent your way. why would you run in a town thats not yours, the whole idea is to be in your own neighborhood where you know the roads and allys. not some area where you never been and can end up on a dead end.

i was riding at around 3am one night noone around and suddenly a cop pulls me over the helicopter was shinning its light on me within a few minutes. they thought i robbed some place which i didnt. sucks being held at gun point over something you didnt do.

but still motocycle vs cop chances are it will end bad. sure you can out run them. untill they call for backup and swarm on you. but one wrong move and you hit the groud or another object. if you survive then chances are your going to jail on alot of charges. who wants to be in jail with a broken leg or arm or something else. makes for easy pickings.

I was also amazed to see how popular the class is. I registered for my class like 3 weeks ago and all I could get was for early July!!!! I went on the site expecting to find something like in 2 weeks LOL.

I’m happy to see that there are many people wanting to become better riders. I went with a different course (still MSF) offered by another group a little more expensive but I will be taking the class July 1-3

I've never been on a motorcycle before other than as a passenger a few times. I've sat on a few when I was first looking around for a good beginner bike, other than that I have NO experience. Should I do anything to prepare for the class?

Make sure you show up early! And I don't mean by 5 minutes.
