LADIES - Other bikes owned
I learned to ride at age 10 on a Kawasaki 80 dirt bike, then Dad bought us ( 3 girls) a three wheeler for xmas. After that, a Honda 250, Harley Davidson Sportster Hugger, and finally the Buell Blast. My husband owned a Honda Shadow, was sold after he past away. My 2 sisters have not been riding at all. I'm the only one who has a motorcycle license. Dad used to take us a ride around the yard on a Harley FLH when we were in diapers. Always enjoyed riding.

Welcome, xpressgirl. You are so lucky to have grown up in a home where riding was not only accepted, but encouraged.
My parents were dead set against motorcycles. My sister used to ride, but she had her bike a long time before anyone found out.
I waited until my Dad died. After he died I said to myself, I have waited long enough. I was 53.
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your husband.

I also started riding when I was 10--a Yamaha Enduro 100. Rode that and my brother's 250 until I was 18. My next bike was a Suzuki Intruder 800. Now I have a '02 Dyna Wide Glide. My son is 9, and he has a Yamaha TTR90. I hope he has as much fun as I have.

Been riding almost 4 years.
My first bike was a 1980 Suzuki GS250. Bought used. Put about 1000 miles on it.
My second was a 2003 BMW f650CS. I was looking at other bikes, but NONE of the dealers took me seriously except BMW. The CS was the dealer demo. Put 8000 miles on it, and did $3200 damage in a lowside.
My third and current bike is a 2004 BMW R1150R Rockster 80th Anniversary Edition. I've logged over 18,500 miles on this bike.

Hey Lion Lady...I'm mirroring you (except, hopefully, for the lowside crash...)
First bike was a Honda CB250. Put about 1,500 miles on that one. Second bike is a 2000 BMW R1100R that I gave to my hubby for his b'day. Third bike is a 2003 BMW F650CS that I LOVE!
I'd like to get a Rockster eventually. The shiny orange and black version. Hubby wants an RT eventually. We both want to try out the new F800ST.
Sigh....too many bikes, not enough money...

I've ridden and/or co-owned with my husband the following (in chronological order):
'03 Honda Rebel (in Oct., '03 / out April, '04)
'04 Yamaha FZ6 (in Jan., '04 / out June, '04)
'00 Honda Shadow Spirit VT1100 (in April, '04 / out March, '05)
'03 Kawasaki ZRX 1200 (in June, '04 / husband's current ride)
'04 Kawasaki Mean Streak (in March, '05 / turned out to be a lemon
/ out June, '06)
'06 Kawasaki Mean Streak (in June, '06 / my current ride)
The only one of the bikes that I don't ride hardly at all is my husband's - it's so tall for me. I love it, but love mine more. I got most of my early practice miles on the FZ6 - it was too tall for me as well, but I sure did learn a lot on that bike. Mostly I learned how to respect a powerful bike as well as what I don't want in a bike.
I love my Mean Streak and hope that it stays in my life for a very long time.
Cheers,
Loonette
