Newbie bikes

#1 Unread post by Twiztid Ninja »

I have browsed around the forums. I read that the 1999 Kawasaki EX250 Ninja is one of the better newbie bikes to get. I looked it up on KBB and its about $1,250. I haven't riden before or anything, I'm not planning on getting one right away, but I just wanted to know if that would work out for a newbie. I'm a small guy about 5'8" around 140lbs. I realize that if at all possible I need to take that crash course amd begin looking into gear, but I figured before I went all out I would just see what everyone thought about someone as small as me learning all this out. I'm anxious to get a bike, but I know better. Any suggestions on other bikes or anything please help me out.

Yeah man, take the class...its great for beginner bikers. The 250 or ninja 500 would be a good bike to start on. I've rode dirtbikes all my life, and i just started ridin streetbikes 2 years ago. Finally bought my own, 98 Honda CBR600F3...not too bad. Good luck, be safe.

Thanx IHateRacing I just wasn't too sure if since I'm such a small guy it would matter on what I would start out on. I'm sure the being small limits me from the bigger bikes.

We are the same height and weight. The ninja 250 should be a good ride for you. You don't mention inseam. Make sure your feet touch the ground.

I don't know my inseem, but I wear 32-32 pants. I saw one for sale for $2,100 but it had been dropped, which I'm not worried about but everything was replaced. $2,100 sounds like a lot for one that has been dropped.
