You do NOT NEED it, you WANT it. Who are you trying to convince with your justifications? You or us?

Because WE are NOT buying it.
im just explaining since people like you say i don't need it. im not trying to convice anyone. i was already convince months ago by others that before upgrading power... handling should be done 1st.

having the right suspension settings is like a difference between night and day. but i can't even set the most basic suspension setup, the static sag.

some people spend all kinds of money upgrading their bike's power... i was like that too before. i wanted to upgrade my bike's exhuast and get a PCIII.

but then i was enlightened... suspension should be the 1st thing you setup for your bike.

and like i said too... i won't upgrade my suspension until after i get my 1st trackday.

To the OP - Lone Star Track Days has already been linked, and they do events all over the state. They also have a sweet deal where if you agree to be a corner worker you get free track time. Basically if you work corners half a day - you get credit for half a day of riding, if you do a full day of corner working, you get a full day of riding credit. It just don't get much better than that.

Verm - your stock suspension can be easily modified and adjusted - for under $200, to your weight. I won't tell you not to blow a huge wad on your suspension, as I spent $2k on mine. The difference? You already have fully adjustable cartridge forks - and I had preload-only adjustment damper rod forks. I now have preload and rebound adjustable cartridges, and a penske 8981 out back. Your stock suspension is already more than fine for the track - and contrary to what you have been told, can be configured perfectly for your weight.

i know... i can just get softer springs but the guys at RaceTech said it'll help but it's not gonna be a big difference.

but we'll see. if i can sell my shinken, i'll upgrade the whole suspension.

im actually going to a different suspension shop since i heard good things about them from many different riders i rode with.

i love my shinken but since i already quit JP swordmanship... it'd be a shame if it's just gonna be a display item. i would like to see it used and fulfill its purpose. it's worth about $1600 new... im gonna sell it for at least $1000. but if i can't get at least $1000 then i'll just keep it.

3 things.....

1) Grats on finally booking a trackday verm, I hope you get a lot out of it

2) Guys please try to keep it civil

3) Pies are cheaper than a suspension upgrade

I have not been blessed yet to have a track day. I plan on doing 5 + next summer. I am also planning on doing a 12 day trip from Omaha to Pugit Sound, Wa. and everything in between.

Anyone know any good tracks in maybe Kansas City, or like anywhere in Iowa. I know the ones in Nebraska
