Idaho M/C Roads

#1 Unread post by Grumbler »

Have ridden the backroads of Northern California, Oregon, Idaho, and a little bit of MT and NV.

Northern California is hard to beat when it comes to both quantity and quality of motorcycle roads. Timing is everything due to traffic although you won't see much of it on CA-36. 8)

Oregon has some killer roads btw I-5 and US-97 as well as btw I-84 and 20/26. See http://www.oregonmotorcyclist.com for more info.

Idaho has some world class m/c roads although there's not a whole lot of them, unfortunately, what with being a relatively sparsely populated state, but the ~160 mile Lowman Loop is killer (north from Eagle/55 to Banks/55, east on Banks-Lowman Rd to Lowman, south from Lowman to Idaho City and Boise via Hwy 21). Also, Hwy 21 btw Boise and Stanley, Hwy 75 north from Ketchum to Challis, Hwy 55 btw Horseshoe Bend and New Meadows, Hwy 13 btw Grangeville and Kooskia, Hwy 12 btw Lolo and Lewiston.

Eyeball my website which is loaded with maps, pics and blather at http://www.tvrides.com from the road trips I've taken over the years.
