How do you deal with motorcycle snobs?

Like others have said, it doesn't matter what you ride, someone will have a problem with it. I personally like the bike I ride, some don't, they say "why would anyone want a bike that goes that fast?" Others like it, I don't really care too much, I bought it because it is what I wanted. If you like the bike, enjoy the bike and don't worry about what the other's say. There are bikes out there for everyone and no one bike will suit everyone. If you ride with a group of folks that give you a hard time, ride with different folks.

Drool flows like Harley oil when those roll by.

I just know that I'm gonna win the '53 Vincent Black Shadow being raffled off by the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in July.

But in the off chance that I don't win the Black Shadow, now I know a few tricks to stiffle the snobs who scoff at my soon-to-be purchased Suzuki Boulevard S40, you know, the bike with only one freakin' cylinder...

When I purchased my new 650 V-Star Classic, it was a thrilling thing for me to do. It was love at first sit, so to speak.

The comments people make aren't going to make me love my new bike any less, but I wish people would keep their yaps shut.

For example, when people make comments like ...it has drum brakes on the back...it's no good. It should have discs on the back as well as the front.
Or....it's just a Harley wannabe....
I tell them not to rain on my parade. The bike may not suit them, but it suits me.
Then there is this one....It's a copy cat. It's designed after a Harley....I tell them maybe Harley was designed after Yamaha.

Or....You should change the pipes....I ask them why? I like them the way they are.

Why do people feel it's necessary to always make these snobbish comments?
Much the same thing happens regarding the helmet. I have chosen to wear a full face helmet. It seems everyone has an opinion and finds it necessary to make disparaging remarks about it.
How do you handle this? Any recommendations for a comeback without resorting to rudeness?

You ride what YOU like. I bet you've gotten alot of compliments too, right? I've had several compliments on my bike, but then again I have people telling me I should do this and that, or should have gotten a different bike. I bought what I WANT, and I LIKE WHAT I BOUGHT. I'll do what modifications I want and so should you. If you like your bike how it is, then screw everyone else that talks crap.

Generally speaking, the people on Harleys who call other bikes "wannabe's" are not worth talking to in the first place. Besides, chances are they were former "wannabe" owners themselves anyway.

Most likely those that make a statement like that don't ride a Harley anyway. I find that most Harley people aren't interested enough in what you ride to bother making such a comment. I expect this is something that is just being attributed to Harley riders. Now tell me that there aren't any honda, yamaha, susucky, etc, riding snobs. ha ha ha.
