Cruising gear?

This question never came up while I was riding in the dirt.

When riding for extended times at a set speed (ie 70mph on the interstate), do you shift your bike up into top gear (live overdrive in a car) or leave it in a lower gear? Common sense tells me to shift up, just wanted that confirmed.

I shift to the highest gear that conditions permit. Plus it saves on gas
