The British insurance company Bikesure offers female riders a 10% discount because we are involved in fewer accidents, and make fewer claims than male riders.
I would think the statistics are the same in this end of the world, I wonder how we could go about getting the same deal.
We have government insurance here in Canada, but I only have the basics with them, my collision and theft etc. is with a private company. I think I'll give them a call and see what they say.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Cheaper insurance for female riders.

It seems to me that it's okay to discount rates for things like... more experienced riders or those with flawless driving records (and fewer claims of course). But to base it on gender alone seems, well, too discriminatory. In my opinion discounts should only be based on an individual's merits. But it's just an opinion.

Some insurance company offer that discount - mine does not. But our insurance is cheap enough anyway, so I didn't care too much. And I do not get a better rate than my husband, but we're not under 25 years of age either. I think, in the States anyway, that age along with gender is a larger consideration than gender alone.ArcticHarleyMan wrote:And you get further discounts if you have taken a m/c safety course.
