That's a couple of hundred over blue book for an '05, but blue book assumes more mileage. Dealer or private party? Any warranty on it if a dealer? I read somewhere or other TW's have a pretty long break-in period, is this still in break-in? Any service yet, any paperwork to prove it?

Same reason a TTR-125L has bigger tires than a TTR-125. Bigger/more aggressive rider, and better performance.

Built for traction and comfort on rough roads, not speed. They're kind of fun if you're not in a hurry. I took my MSF class on one.

Yeah, took my MSF class on one too, very fun to ride, but not nearly enough power to get me up to speed...

PS If it's in perfect condition, I'd go for it... It'll do the job, and it's fun to ride in any weather/traction...

Used bike dealer, probably associated with the Honda/Kawasaki place next door.

I thought I'd offer $3000 OTD.

Fat tires provide a lot more traction on and off road. The TW200 is like a tank; not fast, but able to crush most obstacles without much problem. I'm thinking those big, flat-topped sections of tread will be just the ticket on greasy roads the rain bubbles up on like on the hood of a well-waxed limo.

However, I just rode a S40 Suzuki today, which would open up the possibility of more significant road trips--now I want both.

The Yamaha TW200 is too slow, the best on road speed is 50mph, its a great off road bike but its still underpowered to jump and hill climb. Get a used Suzuki DRZ400S, I have seen used 2003's for $2500 and 2004's at $2995, and 2006's for $3995. The Suzuki DRZ400S will do 95mph on road and will match any motorcross bike off road, its the BEST street legal dirt bike you can get.
