I couldn't tell you how I 'look' on the bike...but I dont feel very cramped unless I've been on it for a while. Can't deliver any more advice except that you need to find what's comfortable for you. I tried a Sportster and I felt too stretched out, like I was about to give a hug to fat Albert.

Wow... sorry to hijack for a bit, but jeez, I picked up a friend's Sportster yesterday, (she dropped it trying to start up a hill), and I felt completely huge on the thing... It was an 883, so maybe that has something to do with it, but if you feel ok on a Blast, then go for it. Some people just have longer legs than others for the same height, some longer torsos. My aunt is 5'11', and my uncle is 6'3", yet her pants are about a foot longer than his on the clothesline... (Gotta love living on a farm!) Anyway, good luck with it, and if you don't decide on it, don't go for a cruiser such as the Vulcan or Volusia in the 800 range... Way too big for you if the blast fits.

I've got a Blast as well. I've had it for 2 months and use it primarily for my commute (40 miles round trip). This is my first bike and I must say that I have no complaints other than a numb butt after an hour or so of riding. The gas mileage is great (65-69pmg). In terms of fit, I am 6'1 and I don't feel uncomfortable riding it. I may look a little silly, but I'm not too concerned w/ what other people think of me. Good luck and happy riding!

yea, I used to own one, and it's true what people say, thier good town bikes or commuters, when I had mine I would typically get 60-70Mpg, I admit that I did look a little bit silly on it though, since I'm 6'5'' with a 34'' inseam (short for a tall person).

The bike was fairly comfortable for me, but only at slower speeds, anything higher then 55mph and I would feel alot of wind on me and would get fatigued, although I did manage to do a 200 mile trip in 1 day on the blast although I was pretty tired at the end of it, thats when I decided to buy my current bike.

I dont think its been mentioned in this post before, although it might have slipped by me noticing it first time through...

But both the blast and the 883 sportster have different models that are lower than some other models. The blast has a shorter seat than the normal one... and the sportster did something with its shocks to get a lower bike.
